Community Guidelines

The Entertonement Community Guidelines are intended to provide our users guidance on what type of content and behaviors are acceptable on the site. Our intention is to keep the site as fun and entertaining as possible.

You should...

  • Have fun

    Entertonement was meant to be a fun place where people can discover, upload and share sound bites with the community. Go ahead and upload that prank call you made the other day with your buddies - we’d love to hear it!

  • Be a good citizen

    When you see good sound bites you enjoy, rate them or share with a friend. If you see abuse or something that violates our Terms of Use, please report it.

  • Upload only your own content

    Copyright infringement is a serious matter. Don't upload sound bites that you didn't record yourself or that you don’t have the rights to use.

  • Play tag

    Collections are used by the community to organize sound bites and make them easier to find. Tag accurately and tag often.

  • Respect others

    Hopefully you learned this in elementary school like the rest of us. We're a community of lots of different people with different tastes. You may not always agree with someone but please be respectful. Make your mother proud.

  • Give us feedback

    You’re an important part of the Entertonement community so we want to hear from you. If you have an idea or suggestion that will improve the Entertonement experience for everyone, come on by our user boards at UserVoice.

You should not...

  • Post hateful or abusive sounds or comments

    We support and encourage free speech but hate speech will not be tolerated. The use of slurs that denigrates a particular gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or nationality is not allowed.

  • Upload copyrighted content

    Only upload content you are authorized to upload. Do not post content protected by any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights, without permission from the owner.

  • Upload sexually-explicit content

    Please refrain from adding images containing nudity or sound bites containing sexual activity. Entertonement is not a porn site and we plan to keep it that way.

  • Spam the site

    People can generally recognize spam and studies show they don't like it. Do not post marketing messages, misleading statements in comments or in the tags and descriptions of uploaded content.

  • Use the site for illegal activities

    This includes uploading sound bites that promote or provide instructional information about illegal activities as well as clips that are intended to harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise violate the legal rights of others.

We drafted these guidelines to help ensure a happy, healthy community and so that everyone has the experience they want to have on Entertonement.
