Entertonement is an Internet media company that is changing the way people express themselves through creating, sharing and listening to entertaining, informative and timely sound bites online and through mobile devices. As a global community built around the largest collection of sound bites on the Web, Entertonement makes it easy for people to connect and engage in new ways around compelling content. Anyone who has access to a computer, mobile phone or video camera can upload an original soundbite in any format and distribute it to millions of people around the world through social media, email, blogs and mobile devices.

Background

With the ubiquity of computers, video cameras and cell phones, virtually everything we do or say can be recorded - microphones and sound bites are all around us. That said, it can still be difficult to find a particular soundbite and take it with you – whether it be through email, blogs, social media or mobile devices. We decided there was a big opportunity to solve this issue for consumers by building a community around creating, finding and sharing entertaining, informative and timely sound bites.

By making the process fast and easy to upload original sound bites, Entertonement empowers people around the world to express themselves in a new way, allowing creators to have their point of view heard and shared through email, on their blog, in their social network, across the Web and even through the ringtone on their mobile phone.

People can now stay up to date on timely news snippets, be entertained by humorous outtakes from the famous and not yet famous, and be connected to people around the world giving their opinions about topics and hobbies that matter to them. Whether people want a shared laugh, a public comment from a current or past news figure, a funny sound, or to hear a friend’s point of view, they can find what they’re looking for on Entertonement.
